Driving and Road Safety at Work
Driving and operating vehicles and equipment is a significant component of exploring and developing oil and gas resources in Canada. Promoting vehicle and fleet safety programs is vital to prevent injury and loss to workers in our industry. We provide companies with information on developing safe driving programs and the oilfield driver training program.
Crossing Borders Report
Enform has available a comprehensive package of information that summarizes the critical differences among BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan OH&S legislation, in terms of applicable jurisdiction, work site, and legal role and responsibilities at the work site, as of March 31, 2011.
This information package - called Crossing Borders: Is your company compliant with OH&S legislation in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan? - includes a 125-page Report, a 13-page Executive Summary. Crossing Borders offers considerable value to oil and gas industry companies as an important tool to work towards compliance with OH&S legislation in all three western provinces.
Fatigue
The Canadian Oil and Gas industry recognizes that workers must be fit for duty and this includes being well rested. The attached webpage’s include information that companies and workers may use to assist in combating fatigue to prevent injury or illness in the Canadian Oil and Gas industry.
Green Hands for Green Hands
New or inexperienced workers (green hands) have twice the workplace injuries of experienced workers. Those under 24 years of age have a 60% chance of being injured in their first six months.
This program helps green hands through their high-risk period by identifying them with a green hand sticker on their hardhat so more experienced workers can watch out for them.
Inter-Provincial Workplace First Aid Requirements Planning Guide
All companies are responsible for ensuring that the appropriate number of personnel at a particular work site are trained in first aid. To help oil and gas companies understand these requirements in an inter-provincial environment in Western Canada, Enform has developed this planning guide. The guide lists first aid training requirements, the process for employers to have out-of-province first aid certificates recognized between BC and Alberta, and course equivalences being recognized in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. This document has been reviewed and approved by WorkSafeBC, Saskatchewan Labour and Work Safe Alberta.
