New Manager for Fort St. John Profiled in BC Newspaper
November 3, 2011

The Following Is A Excerpt From the Alaska Highway News Article
By James Waterman Staff Writer:

Although not always involved with the health and safety side of the industry, Rick Newlove has been involved in the natural resources sector for years. After earning an education in electronics and toiling in that field for four years, he made the move to forestry, which brought him up to the Fort St. John area to work for the forest district.

Newlove transferred his forestry background and his related experience with the permitting side of the oil and gas industry to the BC Oil and Gas Commission, where he spent ten years in roles ranging from geophysical manager to his final position as a director concerned with safety and emergency response.

“I was in compliance and enforcement,” he said. “I spent a couple years actually inspecting drilling and service rigs. I was also compliance enforcement regional manager. So, from my Oil and Gas Commission experience, I got a lot of regulatory background – which is an asset for this role – as well as a technical understanding.”

His experience with health and safety continued to grow after accepting a job with Northern Lights College, where he taught many of the safety courses in the industry training programs. It wasn’t easy for Newlove to leave the familiarity of the college, but he has no regrets about his decision.

“I’m really pleased to be here because it pulls a lot of my background and training together all in one specific location,” he explained. “I’m very happy to be with Enform,” he continued. “And in managing the Fort St. John office, I’ll be the key B.C. spokesperson for Enform. So, that’s a pretty promising position.”

“Obviously, I can touch base with a lot of the Calgary support network. There’s a huge amount of technical expertise on the Calgary side, as well as the leadership side. I’m building my career. I’d like to strengthen all my abilities, including leadership. And I think this a very strong organization to be able to accomplish that.”

“The passion for safety is probably one of the main things that I can probably bring to the role.”

The Canadian oil and gas industry is looking for independent expert health and safety professionals
September 29, 2011

The Canadian oil and gas industry is looking for independent expert health and safety professionals to conduct external safety audits. The industry continues to grow, quickly and steadily, as does the need for new External Auditors. As an External Auditor, you would play an important role in Enform’s Certificate of Recognition (COR) program by conducting external COR and maintenance audits for large employers, conduct or assist with SECOR submissions for small employers, and develop reports and manage audit records for clients.

Enform is the national certifying partner association for the upstream oil and gas industry. For 50 years, Enform has been helping companies achieve their safety goals by promoting shared safety practices and providing effective training, expert audit services and professional advice. Enform certification programs meet government auditing requirements in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, and are used across Canada.

eCompliance AuditTool Selected as Software Solution for ENFORM’s COR Health & Safety Auditing Protocol.
August 31, 2011

Enform, the safety association for Canada’s upstream oil and gas industry and eCompliance Management Solutions Inc. (eCompliance) are pleased to announce that the eCompliance AuditTool (eC-AuditTool™) has been selected as the new software solution for Enform’s COR Health & Safety Auditing Protocol.

“Enform is excited to introduce eC-AuditTool™ to our auditors as a way to improve the efficiency and quality of audit reports,” explains Grant Pelletier, Manager of Auditing, Enform. The eC-AuditTool™ is available for immediate use by trained Enform auditors and will be used for all COR Audits starting on or after September 1, 2011.

Enform and eCompliance worked closely to extend the functionality of the eC-AuditTool™ with a view to improve the efficiency of the auditing process. This was accomplished by integrating the collection of auditing information with a simplified report writing and editing process, while providing companies with the ability to develop their own action plans and manage auditor recommendations.

“To be selected by Enform is a great achievement for us. As an Alberta based company that specialises in the design and development of innovative solutions for the Canadian health and safety sector, we are very proud that Enform, one of the leading and most established associations in this space, has selected eCompliance to provide this key service,” says Ben Snyman, President and CEO of eCompliance.
